  1. Since when?

He probably has a seed stuck in his throat.  Take him to the vet

Or maybe he doesn't sleep enough at night.  You should cover the cage with a towel at ight to make him/her sleep

  2. Hmm... do you have him/she out in the humid,or hot heat?

They act like humans. If they are tyred or hot, they start opening their mouths (or beaks) to get more air. You should try to get it out of the heat, and it will stop.

If this is not it,then i have no idea. Hope it helps!

  3. Seed stuck.

Strong chemical odor bothering him...have you been cleaning?

My cockatiel did not 'yawn' persay, so don't think that could be it.

But he always opened his mouth for the above two reasons.

#1, seed....only he or a Vet can remove it.

#2....get him into fresh air immediately!

  4. Birds frequently do this several times to clear a bit of mucus.  If it just happens a few times, it's perfectly normal.  However if the bird continues doing this or is gasping, you need to seek veterinary care quickly.  Once in awhile is perfectly normal though.
