  1. If your bird is loosing feathers and not pulling them, he is molting. Take it from an expert. Nothing to worry about, just a stage of his life. It should quit sometime (depending on when it started)

  2. Make sure to feed him little pieces of veggies and fruit too.  And for seeds buy him Lafeber balls, they are FULL of exactly what cockatiels need in their diet.  My cockatiel is just beautiful and I think it's because of proper nutrition.  Check out the website I attached for Lafeber and info. on cockatiels.  You can get the balls at Petco or Petsmart. Feathers will fall out because of molting, but there shouldn't be any bold spots.

  3. Mine is losing his feathers too.  He does this a couple times a year.  Sure makes a mess, but eventually it stops.

  4. There could be a number of reasons that brings on stress for a bird that causes them to do this. Its a process of elimination..If you have trouble narrowing it down. I know you can call the folks over at "The Bird nest On Line" for advise.. They have raised birds for over 20 years

  5. I wouldn't panic - they're probably molting.  Mine have feathers EVERYWHERE in their cage now!  But I will say, the first time my birds molted I was scared - I couldn't believe how many little feathers were everywhere!!
