when i first got it, it had a little diharea, but i just assumed that it was because it went to a new place and i was switching it over to pellets. now it seems to have a hard time pooping. it is almost 3 months old... is this normal? because she is starting to get nippy with me and i think it might be because of this issue

  1. Get him/her to the vet.

  2. DON'T GIVE HIM GRIT!!!!! very very bad for the little guy. All it is is rocks (for the most part)   parrots such as cockatiels hull their seeds when they eat, they take the shell off the seed  with their mouth then eat it, grit is not needed and if it is given it may cuase problems in the digestive track of your bird. Grit is for wild birds who can't take the shell off. But ya take him to the vet. I hope he is okay. Go here for some good bird info. if ya want. Good Luck

  3. no bird needs grit to digest food. it causes intestinal and stomach problems if consumed too often. what brand of food does your bird eat? he might be eating too much. also, you can give him some mashed yam or potato to clear things out. prunes maybe. lots of soft fruit, veggies and cooked rice will help if he has that kind of problem. if things dont get better after a few days of eating like this, go to a vet.
