My comp behaves in a strange manner.. help...?

hi pals.. my comp gets shutdown properly but when i switch it on then it says one or more of your disks need to be checked for consistency.. also as soon as i start the pc the files wont open quickly... also the view in which i had set in "my computer" has changed... i dont think there is virus.. i had recently got it formatted... but only c drive... what could be the solution.. why is my computer a bit slow and how to make it fast.. i have a p4 1gb ram(single stick) 160gb hd..and geforce 6200 turbo cache nvidia...

Hey sandy, did you make sure that there was no virus on d:\ ???

If not, make sure.. get a decent AV, update it & lett is scan..
