We just found out that the contract is gone on the 30th of June. According to what we are told PGS or Pinkerton is coming in. Will they hire us on too or fire us all? We are all cleared guards as it is required to work here? What should I do?

  1. It is fairly common for a security company taking over a contract at a site that already has security officers to make job offers to existing personnel. Ordinarily, your experience at the site would be considered valuable to the new company.

It is possible (but not likely) that the client is so dissatisfied with the present guard force that it has has asked the new company for an entirely new crew. In this case, you probably would not be offered a job to stay on at this site.

If I were you, I would find out specifically which company has been awarded the new contract, contact them, and tell them you would like to stay on at the site. Also, if you have had good relations with any managers that work for your client, you may want to ask them to put in a good word for you.
