  1. If you do not want to go, that is fine.

They've told you what to expect if you do not go: A present.

If you go, have a good time on the company.

  2. Yes.  It is their party.  They get to make the rules.

  3. Yup...what do you need the gift so badly

  4. Yes, it is okay.  They do make up their own rules about gifts.  My company gives the gifts even if you're not there.  It depends on the company.

  5. your company went through trouble to reserve a seat for each employee, and for you to not show up is saying you dont like working for your company...kind of like an insult to your company...there nothing wrong with not giving you a gift if you could not show up for the dinner.

  6. Go for the fellowship and not to be the talk of the town.  You do not have to buy a new outfit or try to impress your co-workers.

Wear something that you feel comfortable in and before you go set a time limit for the time that you will spend there.  If you feel uncomfortable after one hour leave and let your boss know that it was very nice of them to have the dinner for everybody.

  7. yes alot of companies do that to make u come

  8. the company can handle their party and gifts anyway they want to.  It's their party and their gifts..
