My compaq Presario laptop

Question

The computer is less than a year old and for some reason will not open to windows. I get an error message that states window has failed and sugguest that a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. This is incorrect because I have not installed a new software of hardware. If further states that files have been damaged or configured incorrectly. It has a button to lauch startup repair but when selected it does not work. Can you give me an idea what should I do?
