My computer is quad core 9300 (2.5 ghz, 6mb L2 cache, 1333 mhz fsb) 2gb kingston ddr2 800, inno3d geforce 8500 1gb ddr2 pci-e, 160 samsung hdd. I put heatsink to RAM and installed 2 chassis intake fans and 1 exhaust fan. OS is Windows XP Black Edition. I run checkdisk and no bad sector. I formatted the hdd twice. It freezes regardless of what program I run--sometimes msword, sometimes graphics software or internet explorer or media player. OCCT test shows that my cpu is too hot--50 degrees Celsius by average--even if I'm just surfing the internet. I noticed that when it reaches 51 degrees Celsius, it freezes; everything stops. What should i do?

  1. Install a antivirus / malware and run a complete check on the system, possibility that someone who was seeding this had malware / virus planted in it.

With no application running on the desktop, check your task manager, go to Performance tab, if the CPU Usage is > 2-5% you have a problem, it is a malware / virus messing your PC.

50 Degree Celsius is pretty ok for a processor, mine runs at about 45 Degrees and when i load it fully it gets to about 65% despite having Coolmaster GeminII Thermal cooler.

    I have 1 front intake 120mm, 1 Rear out 120mm, 1 Top out 80mm,

1 side 80 mm and 2 120 mm on the coolmaster.

    It is defintely malware.

  2. Window's XP Black Edition IS Fo' Bustas, Keep TS'n that load Busta'.

    Edit:

Ok maybe that wasn't fair. Black Edition is unstable due to the fact is a cludge of many people working together and slipsteaming apps into the installer. Some reputable people claim there is malware and viruses even worms on the install. That may be the reason for the excessive processor load causing the thermal issue your also having. I would look to what type of processor cooler you have. You may want to consider getting a very beefy thermaltake that may help, and or installing a "blowhole" in the top of your case.  My real suggestion is either DL a good copy of black maybe through emule or you could try the rapidupload links on keznews.com or even better download a stable know good OS like beryl it has all the same features of black plus it has even more. Youtube Beryl Vs. Vista. I hope this helps.

  3. Thats a WoW setup you have there.

Se if you can change IOS settings to stop when the tem exceedes settings.

if not, try keeping the fan towrds the air conditioner, or get a water/oil based cooling system.
