My computer crashes when I delete multiple items at once?

I just bought a new computer (HP Pavilion a6530f) which is running Windows Vista 64 Bit. About 2 weeks ago I started having a problem when I tried to delete multiple items. Anytime I select more than one thing in my documents or on the desktop or anywhere and try to delete them, the dialog box pops up asking if I do want to delete multiple items, but then Windows stops responding and I have to restart Windows Explorer. It deletes single items perfectly fine, its only when I try to do multiple items at once. Any idea what could be causing this and what can be done to fix it?

I would first try running you anti virus then if that does not work you could try downloading tuneup utilities and that should solve it.You can download a free trial here
