My computer gives audio output from one side only?why is that?

i thought one of the speakers is out but after testing them on my friends computer they both work just fine ..so i'm positive it's not the speakers

an i also checked the balance on the master volume ...so what could it be?

It's possible the jack isn't making a full connection into the computer slot.

try a different pair of speakers to make sure it isn't the jack on your speaker prongs making a mismatch to your computer, if its the jack on your computer side...about the only thing I can suggest is a new soundcard...
