My computer has been runnin slow,would that have anything to do with my hard drive?

I was told that my hard drive was goin bad and i needed a new one.Now my computer has been running slow lately.

It would help if you provided some specs, but you should try getting some ram and taking stuff off startup.

  If your hard drive is going bad you should start seeing some errors or hearing noise from it. As for the running slow, have you cleaned all the junk files off the hard drive and defragged it lately?  Clear your browser catch, temp. Internet files, and history. Then run disk cleaner and after that defrag the drive. Get rid of any old programs that yoo don't use as they just take up space the heads have to jump over and around to find stuff.

There could be several reasons for a PC running slow.  How do you now your HD is failing?

select the one appropriate for your HD.

Also, do a PC spring cleaning (delete temp files, cache, cookies) and try to defragment your hard drive.

Several things may cause the machine to slow down. The hard drive may nearly be filled with data, you may have an adware, spyware or malware infection, you may have some hardware part overheating, or you may just need to defragmant the C: drive. A search of technical websites will explain all of these and walk you through solutions to all of them. A failing hard drive will usually reveal itself with the machine freezing up, data disappearing before your eyes, or Windows failing to boot.
