  1. Malwarebytes is one of the best programs for removing fake software like antivirus 2009, download, update and run a scan - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

The other two programs to try are:

    SuperAntispyware: http://www.download.com/SUPERAntiSpyware...

    SmitFraudfix: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.p...

  2. Malwarebytes should help, but you may also run Spybot Search & Destroy (search on www.download.com) and Ad-Aware (from Lavasoft).  You need to disable restore or the problem will just return.  You can turn restore back on later when you are sure the problem is gone.  Make sure each software is installed and updated, then start your PC in safe mode.  Now fully scan the PC and delete or quarantine whatever is found.

Good luck!   Oh and by the way, AVG Free is a good choice for a free anti-virus program  (Avast is good, too).

  3. Antivirus 2009 is an unwanted program, from the authors of Antivirus 2008 . These applications have resembling interface and "features". After stealth installation, Antivirus 2009 will show tonns of fake spyware\adware detection messages and offers to remove reported threats (after you purchase commercial version). But in real Antivirus 2009 is not a spyware cleaner, it's just an imitation of spyware remover. Antivirus 2009 can also slow your computer and cause system errors and crashes. Remove Antivirus 2009 using manual removal instructions (for advanced users) or removal tool.

  4. here is a removal video

  5. AVG won't even come close to fixing this

This i promise you will  FIRST  turn off system restore then run this

  6. I suggest you download and install AVG 8.0. Its free and effective at killing this nasty bugger. Regardless of what you choose to do(use AVG or some other anti-virus program) you NEVER want to reformat your computer as it is a complete waste of time and causes too much hassle especially for a simple annoyance such as this.

  7. I would suggest you just format your computer. I'm sure that would be a great help. Reformatting erases all the files and also the viruses in it. After reformatting, be sure you installed a powerful anti virus and anti spyware in your computer.

    good luck!

  8. If you do not want to worry about viruses and spyware just get Linux. It is safe and very fast!! You can get it here http://www.ubuntu.com/ Any questions ask me at Baseballplyer40@yahoo.com
