  1. Install another OS that doesn't act like that or format and reinstall OS.

  2. Check http://www.pcoptimizerprodownload.com

With pc optimizer pro you can safely clean, repair and optimize your computer.

It will help improve your system performance.

  3. Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.

  4. Buy more RAM!  Go here and find your computer.  http://corsair.com/configurator/default....  Buy two 1GB sticks of the recommended memory (I recommend www.newegg.com).  RAM is a cheap upgrade that can make a HUGE difference in performance.  It is easy to install as well.  Search online for instructions on how to replace your RAM.

  5. dsl, or call your company and tell them to come and fix it

  6. upgrade your rams and harddrive

    Upgrade everything.. OR

Throw the **** and get another one

  7. purchase more RAM

  8. first off in the bottom right hand corner of your computer if you see alot of icons start up there when you first start your computer then this is for you if you dont know already how to get rid of em.

Press your Start Button (bottom left) and go to "run"

    now type in: msconfig

now you will get a box that pops up and will tell you bunch of stuff dont mess with anything else other than what I tell you otherwise you could do something really bad (possible) go to your "startup" tab on the top right of the screen where it usually is and click it.

Now you will have a closed in box with bunch of filenames n addresses and more boxes with checks in them. Now if your like me you dont want anything startin up when you start you computer up or while your even doing anything cause it slows you down. Now unless your like me right now 1 have 1 thing starting up when my computer starts up and thats my settin for my overclocked vid card. But other than that uncheck every box and then hit apply and ok. Then window you were jus in will now close and ask you if you want to restart or wait till later to restart.

Either way when you shut it off and then turn it back on the settins will kick in

  9. dsl

  11. Run the disk cleanup and if your have vista then delete shadow copies

  12. it would depend on what you mean by lagging

if you mean your online and your lagging try to reboot your internet

if you mean game laggy when you play then offline  then you might need a better video card  or you computer is to slow to run the programs

  13. Assuming you're running Windows, try a system cleaner such as CCleaner. It may also be worth checking for spyware (try Spybot S&D).

If you're not going to use it for games, it may be worth considering something like Ubuntu since Linux will often run better on older systems and will do all the same stuff.

I've not included links since I'm sure Yahoo would love you to use their shiny search engine ;-)

  14. A good antivirus, that's not Norton or the other memory hogger.

Clean your computer of junk (spyware)

Use AVG free, version 8. Yes, free.  Don't use the "free download version", do a search for AVG free.  It will show up on www.grisoft.com,  don't go to any other site.

Get rid of Norton or any other brands first though Add Remove programs.

Install AVG, update then scan the PC.  It may take two hours or more.

Then install SpyBot from www.safer-networking.org (no other place)

Install, update and run... May take 40 min.  It may require you to reboot and it will scan before the PC starts. (another 40 min)

The last is Ad Adware from www.lavasoft.com (no other place)

install, update, run.  Again that should take 40 min.

The reason I say "no other place" as there are many sound alike program that don't work like these.

Only AVG runs constantly.  The other two only scan when you tell it to, like once a week.

Go to IE - TOOLS - INTERNET OPTIONS and delete your temp files (that may take 15 min).  change your temp files setting to 20 MB not 10 Gb.  Those settings were from the days of dial up modems.

Delete the junk in Recycle bin.

After you clean and empty the trash go to My Computer.  Right click on the HD, Properties, then TOOLS. Run Defrag (2 to 4 hours or so)

You should have 2 GB of memory for XP / Vista.  Memory is cheap from Tigerdirect.com or newegg.com  Amazing what an extra Gig will do to a PC.  Get the right memory, even if you have to call them or chat on line.  There are a few different types.

  15. your pc might have a virus perhaps?

  16. What version of Windows are you running?  Have you run a anti-virus software? malware/spyware software?  There are ways to "tweak" different versions of Windows besides the normal options under msconfig.  But without knowing the version you are running I can't be of much help.   Let me know and I will be more than happy to help.

  17. Your PC is probably infected with adware & spyware if:

         * You have downloaded music online

         * Your PC is running extremely slow

         * You are pestered by those horrible popup ads

         * Your homepage keeps changing

Don't let people invade your privacy and slow down your PC!

If so, then take a few moments to download anti-spyware software to get rid of spywares and get rid of adwares if your computer is infected.
