  1. For running slow there are many causes:

For  IE, click Tools, Internet Options  delete files (offline files) clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want) click o.k., and Restart

For Firfox, press ctrl+shift+del, and click clean private data.

    Manage your startup:

Open your Start menu  ->  Click Run ->  In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" ->  In the "system configuration utility", click either "service" or "startup" tab ->  Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

    De-Fragmenting

    1. Right click of C Disk.

    2. Click properties.

  2. You can get all you data and put it on CD or external drive for back-up. After doing so, reformat your computer. If you don't know how to reformat(because this is technical job), call a computer technician in your area.

  3. im hoping he was talking about when you defragment a computer and it rearranges files to make finding them easier.

if you have a windows XP or vista system you can try going to:

    Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Defragmenter

and run that program for "Drive C".

it will take anywhere from many minutes to several hours so give it time and come back to your computer to check on it every so often, but if you let it do its thing it should help make your computer a bit faster.

there are many other things you can do to speed up a PC as well, like in Control Panel if you were to go uninstall many programs you don't ever use it'll help stop a lot of those pesky programs running in the background.

also, if you know someone a bit more tech savvy than you, ask someone if they can optimize your computer for you through "msconfig". if you find someone able to do that for you you'd be in good shape. sorry im not putting how do that yourself, theres just a few things there that you might not want to mess with for the sake of keeping your PC healthy and you might want to leave it up to someone with experience.

or if you're feeling risky (in the sense that you'll be downloading and installing off advice from the internet), you can download a program out there called "ccleaner" which really is an awesome program for cleaning out computers full of waste and useless material (stuff left over by the internet and random progams).

the program is really quite good, and id recommend it to any and every pc user.

i really hope you have a PC and not a mac or pretty much all of this is useless to you ^^

    good luck!

  4. Back-up your important files. Reinstall the OS, apply OS patches, and update the device drivers.
