  1. Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

    http://www.fix-system.com/

You can download and scan your computer for free.

  2. yes defraging will help a bit but you may also have a low memory ram card (random access memory) the more ram you have the more things you can at the same time if you have a good amount of ram then also check the speed of your prosessor this affects how fast your computer can react to what you want to do if your on windows xp and want your computer to run fast id recomend a least 512mb of ram and a 2.0 GHz proseccor.

another thing to check is if you have lots of programs running in the backround. by ths i mean they atomatically run when ever you turn on your pc if so unistall the ones you dont need

  3. ctrl alt delete and see what processes and applications you have running in the background. some may be malicious and some may be just taking up your cpu and you can manually end those...

  4. Get a registry cleaner such as regcure. See if that helps. Also run virus scan and anti-spyware scan.

  5. Check http://www.pc-optimizer-pro.com

With pc optimizer pro you can safely clean, repair and optimize your computer.

It will help improve your system performance without expensive hardware upgrades.

  6. Disk Defrag only helps a little. You won't be able to see much a of a difference. Startup times could be a few seconds faster, but it is basically useless. Upgrade the RAM maybe. It is the best way to make your computer faster!

  7. Defragging couldn't hurt, but you don't say much about your computer or what exactly is so slow. If working online is slow, it may have more to do with your internet connection. If it is Office type applications, you may need more memory, or your swap file may need to be enlarged (although Windows will usually tell if and when that is required).

  8. go to start / run type in msconfig go to startup and untick all programs except for antivirus and firewall a lot of programs automatically start when windows does using memory. Stop them as you can always start them in normal way and reboot

on some computers I have had over 20 not good

also Download and use " The Ultimate Troubleshooter it lists all running services which you can check and stop or delete

  9. hard drive doesn't make a difference in faster pc , RAM makes the difference you can run this software : http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean... , but make sure you have done a complete system scan if you need another antivirus , check this one out Avira AntiVir (verry good) : www.free-av.com , you can defragment maybe it will make a change

  10. Yes!

Disk Cleanup and Defrag will help along with removing programs that you dont use in Add/Remove programs.

Also take a look at your memory to insure it is working properly or you may need an upgrade.

If you use IE I would switch to firefox or Opera .

If your running Vista than thats another reason.

  12. I'm not sure defrag will help. How about scanning for viruses?Have you done this before? If yes and yet, your computer is slow, I would recommend you reformat your laptop. Try also adding some more RAM in your computer.
