My computer is completely dead (when i press the power button nothing even happens anymore) is it possible to take some kind of memory technology **** out of the computer and recover old pictures or files and then transfer it to a different computer? i know it's doubtful but im still wondering if it's possible.

  1. My guess is that the power supply is a problem (assuming of course, that you did the standard "check the connections" first).

The files are still stored on the hard drive, which usually is easily swapped from one machine to the other. You would have a real issue if it was the hard drive that failed.. in this case, it does not sound this way.  Another thing that happens is that WINDOWS can crash, but it does not mean the files are wiped off.

I could be wrong, but your situation is probably not as bad as you think.

  2. yes: remove the hard drive from the computer then put it in your friends computer or a new computer if you get one and if you have a portable hard drive that you can goes in the usb port you can put the files on that

After you do that you can if you choose to. put the new hard drive back in and place the files on your new hard drive using the portable hard drive

  3. It's probably just the power supply unless the motherboard's fried. The pictures are probably safely sitting on the hard drive. You just need to get the power supply (or maybe motherboard) repaired and the computer should be fine again.

You could also move the hard drive to another computer temporarily to get the pictures off, a computer store might pull the data off for you for a few bucks.

  4. may be the power supply is dead and you just need to change it.

if this is not the case, you can take your HDD and put it in another pc as a slave and recover all your files (pictures, music, videos, anything else)

  5. No problem at all man. Just take out the Hard Drive, and put it in another computer as a slave, then you can copy the files over. Message me if you want more details.
