My computer isn't detecting my Samsung camera?

Usually when I plug it in to the USB port and into the camera it asks if I want to connect it to the computer or printer and I always choose computer. After that, a small screen comes up asking what I want to do with the pictures, basically.

Lately when I plug it in and choose computer the computer makes a weird little 'doo doo' noise is the best way I can put it, and nothing comes up. I can still go into paint and get the pictures from 'scanner or camera' but then I have to do one at a time. I just want them all to go into a folder like they used to.

Sometimes when a memory stick (thumb drive) is plugged in and you plug in the camera, the memory stick takes the drive letter that is needed by the camera.

Remove any thumb drive, or usb storage device and then try the camera.
