My computer isn't reading my 4GB memory card for my camera.?

Hi everyone. I bought a 4GB memory card for my camera and it works perfectly with my camera, and it transfers to my computer just fine when I use the USB cord, but it would be so much easier if it read the SD card. Can anyone tell me why its not working and how to make it work. Is there an update I need to get or something? I'm so technically challenged . . .

  1. 4GB SD Cards and higher work slightly differently, so card readers that are old wont work. There might be updated drivers available, that you can install to get your SD reader to work, but if not, you will have to use the USB cable or buy a new external SD card reader.

  2. For a 4GB SD card, you'll need an SDHC reader. SDHC cards will not work in normal SD devices, but SD cards will work in SDHC devices. You'll need to purchase a new card reader that supports SDHC cards.

  3. Check to see if the lock is on? and if not look to see if its the correct adaptor, also some memory cards are useless when their to big, jus cant be read

  4. Sorry to say, but make sure it's in all the way.
