Hi, ok so I have an HP pavilion a1600n and when I turn it on there is no video like the monitor is black...ive tried on 3 different types of monitors and it still doesn't work i think it might be something with the integrated video but i put in a video card and it still doesn't display any video. Could it be the powersupply or a bad motherboard? please help!

  1. I know these answers are gonna be annoying.  Have you tried turning on the power to your monitor?  Did you connect the video feed from the graphics card to the monitor and connected and turned on the monitors power all at the same time?  I know it sounds dumb but you could have forgotton a step.  If you can hear the fans running it is not the power supply.  If it is the power supply it will look like nothing happens when you turn on the computer, although if the power supply isn't getting enough power ( like in a brownout) it will make noises.
