My computer keeps going to sleep?

well my computer does have a history where the video cable thing connector comes off then i placed it back in and it worked a long time it said it was going to sleep also but i fixed it because the numbers on the back where on 230 and i switched it to 115 and it worked so now its 115 and everytime i turn my computer on it says monitor going to sleep and its not the montor because i tried it on this monitor and it sayed the same thing how can i fix this do i have to take it apart please help

  1. check your monitor setting open control panel and then power options to change the set click on the arrow at the end of box a drop down list will appear make your choice then click apply and ok if that does not work Try a online virus scan here are some address to try Safety.Live.com...TrendMicro.com...Kaspe... afterwards get some protection Comodo.com is offering a complete security suite free and yes they can be trusted if you want to do it yourself I recommend Avira.com along with Safer-Networking.org(spybot search&destory) or SpywareBlaster from majorgeeks.com or Lavasoft.com...MalwareBytes.org is another good one to consider althrough the last two don't offer free protection some even recommend two anti-spyware scanners just to be on the safe side the other bit of advice i have to offer is external firewalls they hardwire to the machine with usb or firewire hook up now thats cutting edge tech.Remember paid is usally better than free however since Comodo.com kind offer that may not be the case anymore
