My computer keeps saying this when i downloaded this??.......?

it says "this file does not have a program associated with it to perform this action.create an association in the set associations control panel" what does that mean?? it says that when i try to open the file....i downloaded this.... http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/conflictds2/download_6073099.html

do research on the file's extension on the Internet, then download to program associated with it.
