My computer makes a loud buzzing sound when on! Does it indicate anything serious?

  1. u must show it to the engineer.


  2. Its due to borken fan / problem in HDD / borken cd in ur cd drive

  3. If it buzzes on start-ups, Its usually RAM, either it may have slipped from its position or u may have to go for higher RAM

    otherwise, chk the fans of your CPU + processor.

    DIFFERENT PROBLEMS HAVE DIFFERENT SOUNDS

  5. depends on whats causing the buzz, is it a fan hitting a heatsink?, your harddrive, powersupply, any number of things that may or may not be serious

  6. Its FAN sound, you may need to change the fan or the whole SMPS.

  7. Is it a laptop or desktop?

    There may be many reasons behind. 1) Dust in the processor fan. Try cleaning it. 2) There may be problem with heatsync.

    Better go to some professional.
