My computer microphone doesn't record my voice ?

Question

I plugged in the pink hole and turned on my computer

microphone.

I used windows recorder and audacity but none of them

records my voice.

Do I have to do something with the sound bar,

the bar that controls sound which is in lower right hand

corner beside the clock ?

You have to go into Detail and turn the mixer & k***s on, also making sure in Control Panel -> Sound that Windows is fetching the signal from the right port if you got several Sound cards/USB adapters in your machine.

Webcam counts as microphone-in too. For most of them today.
