My computer no longer allows me to log on to sites that require me to log in. What can I do?

Every time I try to sign in to Facebook, for example, it says, "Internet Explorer can not connect to internet."

  1. Deletion of the following is necessary: Temporary Internet Files, History & Cookies

    You can find these items by clicking START - RUN - then type inetcpl.cpl - ENTER

    after successfully deleting those items, DEFRAGMENTING of your LOCAL DRIVE C is a must. It may freshen your harddisk and may result a better performance as far as speed is concern...

    Then having appropriate programs such antivirus and antispyware is a must to make sure your pc is protected and secured...
