My computer restarts randomly. What could be the problem?

Here are my specs

APEVIA 500 Watt PSU

Intel 4300 (1.8 GHz) OC'd 2.3 (I don't think this is the problem, as it does it even at lower clocks and even at stock speed)

Gigabyte g945 motherboard

2 GB Corsair RAM

8800 GTS 320MB

Windows XP Pro SP2

Heat is not an issue either.

  1. It may be a fatal error that is causing the computer to restart. You can easily stop the restart problem by changing your system

    features to restrict automatic startup when your computer's having a problem. Here is how:

    Use System Failure Settings to Stop Automatic Restarts.

    1. Click Start and Open the Control Panel

    2. Go to System and Maintenance, Click on System.

    3. Select Advanced System Settings and choose Advance tab.

    4. Under Startup and Recovery, click on Settings.

    5. Under System failure uncheck Automatically restart.

  2. maybe your computer got virus or you have a program that restarts your computer.
