  1. ure tryign to edit, so wouldnt you have a software installed?  u can use windows movie maker, but it compresses, making the quality horrible.  another option is to get softwres such as pinnacle studios, adobe premiere, etc.  some softwares won't recognize camcorders if you use USB, try firewire, it is faster and doesn't skip frames as much as USB.  will probably have to buy a firewire card and cable, (give or take $30).


  2. midknight_6 is right, but is assuming you're using a laptop when (s)he talks about PCMCIA or Express cards - desktop / tower systems take a PCI card.

  3. You cannot connect your camcorder to your PC via USB!!!! All you will get are the still pictures you took. Video is transferred via firewire!! So you need to see if your PC has a firewire port. If it doesn't you need to buy either a PCMCIA card or expresscard with firewire capability. And of course a firewire cable. Good luck!!
