  1. maybe the reason is you have a lot of downloaded stuff like games or something.try deleting alot of them and your computer will go faster. or switch to comcast :00

    hope i get best answer:-)

  2. Most likely a slow internet connection for the Skype problem. I have a dirt slow computer, but when I'm connected to fast internet it doesn't matter. If you want your computer to run faster, a quick fix is to just add more RAM. Cost you about $50-$100 and makes a big difference.

  3. Well from what i can see, if generally your computer is running too slowly, chances are then when you load an program or application, your computer will not be able to process its required tasks, hence affecting the performance of anything you want to do on your computer.

I assume you have an internet connection, and you can browse your internet just fine. Make sure that internet explorer is not set to "work offline" (in file menu) before loading skype, as this stop messenger and chat programs from connecting (i know, its really wierd). Ensure your username and passwords are correct, and if need to re-install skype to ensure that it was just an installation error. Re-install with disabling all firewalls and anti-virus programs.

To make your pc run better, you should once a year or so re-format your computer. Save everything on a thumbdrive or DVD which you will need before hand, as it completely wipes your pc to factory settings.

Try also disk degragmenting, or adding some more computer RAM, or increasing your computers hard drive, as just these 2 things can significantly increase your PCs performance. As a generall rule, for good performance you should have your hard drive no more than half full.

    hope that helps :-)
