I really want to play a lot of online games but I can't because my computer says I should download the latest Adobe Flashplayer 9. I'm afraid that this will give my computer viruses and pop-ups that I really don't want. I also don't want it to make my computer slower. Can someone from experience tell me the best choice.

  1. Not if you use the official www.macromediaflashplayer.com stie, or the link that is on the message that tells you to dowload it. Viruses can piggy-back in on unofficial sites, and especially spyware, since computers make spyware not viruses. You see, I looked at many flash player sites, 3 of which gave me viruses (terrible ones) and all gave me spyware (109 of them) all except the official and certified one.

    Hope that helps you out!!

  2. NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!...

  3. Download directly from Adobe site. Never had a problem with them. Besides, your on-line virus scanner should alert you, and allow you to abort the connection. Mine does.

  4. To play online games, Flash Player is required. It will not give you any viruses as long as you download it directly from the Adobe website.

    Have fun gaming.

  5. The latest version of Adobe Flash Player 9 is safe.

Occasionally, the news reports of security vulnerabilities related to Flash player or Acrobat (another adobe product). However, Adobe is usually very prompt to release patches that close the security hole. There are no current reports of vulnerabilities in Flash.

  6. Adobe Flash Player 9 will not infect your computer with viruses or pop-ups. I have downloaded it and installed it, and my Kaspersky Antivirus does not detect it as a virus. Every once in a while (a month or two, depends on when Adobe decides to upgrade its flash player), a window will pop up, asking you if you want to update Adobe Flash Player, but it doesn't harm your computer in any way. Adobe Flash Player also shouldn't make your computer slower. It only runs when you're using an application (online games, etc.) that needs Flash Player. If you want to be sure, you can scan the file with your antivirus program, but I'm certain it's not a virus, as long as it's downloaded from adobe.com.

  7. As long as you download directly from Adobe.com it will not give your computer a virus. A lot of common websites (not just online games) use Flash for their graphics.

  8. You are probably safe to use the warning that pops-up; usually it will automatically download the patch for you. But if you want to be certain then go straight to the source, Adobe:

You should always keep Flash Player up-to-date! Adobe Flash Player has been known to have serious security problems through the years. Some that enable your computer to be taken over remotely just by visiting a malicious Web Site. Personally I use FireFox and the "Flashblock" add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...

  9. FROM HERE .. IS THE LATEST ALWAYS DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION ... IS UPDATED FOR SECURITY ETC...
