  1. I've had a problem similar to this. Try getting technical help here- http://pcsupport.about.com/ or at http://forums.about.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx...

  2. My Sister's computer does that, The Blue Screen of Death shows up (That's what everyone on the net calls it.)

And then her computer beeps loudly and then shuts down. With my sister, it's due to overheating, check your computer to see if it's hot.

  3. well.. usually the blue screen of death can provide you with some info-try to get the error code--then u could pinpoint the situation.

    with the info u provided

counting that there are no virus-

*the most common problem would be that your system is overheating

it might be time to clean your pc.

P.S the pc might even beep a certain way and depending on that you could also find out for sure.

  4. your computer has one of 2 problems.  It is overheating or your power supply is failing.  To fix the overheating issue open the case and blow out all the dust then run a vacuum to clean up the miss you make.  For the power supply issue you local computer store should have a power supply tester that he can test your power supply with.  Maybe set you back 10 dollars

  5. Could very well be a hardware problem. Maybe a bad power supply. If you only see a brief blue-screen but also with text it sounds like it could be a really serious crash.

Check if the fans are still running. Overheating can cause shut downs.

Start with the assumption that it's software. Re-start the computer and before Windows launches (I'm assuming your running Windows) hit the F8 key repeatedly to force it into "safe mode". If it runs without shutting down in safe mode you'll know it's a software problem. You then can either try to find which file, plug-in, driver or whatever is the culprit or you can back up your files and then re-install (recommended) Windows.

If the problem of shutting down still happens, then look into the fans and/or power supply.

  6. Best to ring your computers company, they should help!

I rang up Dell because i was having a similar problem with mine and they helped.

  7. I had the same problem and mine was due to a hardware failure. If you recently installed new hardware or something, thats probably it. Otherwise if its an old computer, definitely go buy a can of compressed air from office max or something and blow the dust out of your computer to keep it from over heating.
