A few days ago, I got a trojan/virus that is causing my computer not to load sites like yahoomail, myspace, facebook, etc. Is there anything I can do?

Will "system backup/restore" work? I have an HP w/ XP. Any suggestions are welcome!

  1. Please install spybot search and destroy.

    Spybot search and destroy is the best free anti-spyware tool.

    http://www.safer-networking.org/

    Scan and remove the spyware

    Immunise your system against future infection.

    Enable the advance feature of Spybot

    Use spybot host file locking tool to lock the hosts file to prevent unauthorized changes.

    Locking the hosts file will prevent most hosts hijackers (even unknown) from doing harm;

    Locking the IE settings will prevent other users of your computer to change your preferences.

  2. try to reset ur internet settings

    right click on internet explorer

    then internet propties and sellect advanced tab and click on reset

    goodluk

  3. I had the same virus, and the only thing I got to remove it was by purchasing Macfee Virus Removal... It's pretty pricey ($70), but it got rid of it completely.

    This tool seems to work great on killing nasty viri.
