My computer starts up really slowly!?

Question

I have two computers, both are emachines, after mine shows the desktop it can be used after about 10 seconds, but my other takes at least 10 minutes to be able to be used after the desktop shows. I think it's because my slow one loads alot of things in the bottom right corner, it has like 12 things it loads on startup.

How can i make it to where my computer doesn't start up the things in the bottom right corner when i turn on my computer?

Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:

1. Open your Start menu.

2. Click Run

3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"

4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab

5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

6. Click "OK"

You're on the right track--things in the bottom corner CAN slow it down & reconfiguring your startup is the thing to start with.  Type MSCONFIG at the RUN prompt & UNselect things you don't need.

ALSO, just cleaning off your desktop really helps.  It sped mine up a LOT when I reduced the number of icons on my desktop... like from a minute or more to load, to a matter of about 10-15 seconds!

probly because

u have to much stuff

wipe your harddrive this re install every thing u need

and

p**n really slows it down so got the tools on Enternet explorer

delete browser histiory and click on all of them

Click start>run and then type in "msconfig"

Then go to selective start up and you can choose what you want to load when your computer logs on. If you cancel everything it will be ready very quickly.
