My computer stops responding when it boots up?

Question

Anytime I boot up my computer it will load to the login screen then just stop responding other than mouse movement. I can boot up in safe mode and it runs just fine but if I try to run normal or previous settings that worked, it will not. I am running XP Media Center Edition on a Dell XPS 400. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
