I installed Zone Alarm yesterday because the so-called Microsoft Firefall has now let 3 trojans into my system. Zone Alarm auto configured beautifully and has run without a glitch, but now my system takes about 10 minutes (literally) to boot up. Is this is common problem, or do I need to make an adjustment to my system settings?

  2. I would ditch windows all together and go for a linux distro... preferably Ubuntu. Then you dont have to worry about viruses at all.

  3. you could boot into safe mood and uninstall zone Alarm and try online armor or comodo but i would uninstall zone alarm just to be safe

  4. Zone Alarm is good.  But I had to take it off for the same reason.  I think it scans your system every time it starts....so that takes some time...and I think it may interfere with other anti-virus systems like Norton, etc.

So now I run Norton 2008....and also three other programs which are good, highly recommended...and free.

Google and download 1. Adaware by Lavasoft, 2. Spyware Blaster and 3. Spybot Search and Destroy.  Be sure to run the scans weekly....and download their updates before each scan.  You can get these free downloads at Download.com...They have worked well for me....and no problems...
