My computer takes a long time to connect to the internet...What's wrong with my computer>

...It was fine a few days ago. i was hit hit with a fraudulent antivirus that spybot had to get rid of, and now it the computer is really slow. can someone help me out ? thank you for your time.

Sounds like a virus if your whole computer is slow.

It has taken up all of your space why nt delete the spybot and then reload it back on from the web site

It sounds like that you may still have have some residual spyware/malware lurking in your system. Make sure your anti-virus app has the latest virus definitions installed and rescan your system completely. You might want to scan your system with an anti spyware app as well, such as Spybot S&D and Lavasoft Ad-Aware.

it might be because of the fraudulent antivirius that you had to get rid of. it could have done some damage to the computer so it takes longer for the internet to load. i hope this helps!!!

Try looking at your SURFboard Cable Modem.

The one with the lights.

If the "Online" one is lite up then it should be working.

Download " The Ultimate Trouble Shooter "

when run it details all running processes and when item clicked on gives details of what it is and allows you to either stop it or delete it

My computer was having the modem lights always flickering saying  was on the net used the above program and deleted 3 startups no further trouble.

it also tell you if it is a  needed windows file

ummm... you got a virus that you need to fix! FAST! Or someone could be haking your computer and thats what is is making it go so slow! Also try turning your computer off completly and then turning it back on! That usually helps with mine! There I helped you out! :)

Have you tried doing a disk clean-up, it will make a difference.
