My computer was hit by

my computer was hit by lightening last summer. Sometimes when I turn it on, it will not run through and start, but it will sound like it is running and just sit there indefinetly. I have so far been able to fix the problem by removing the internal battery for a short period of time and then replacing it. Recently this has quit working. I am wondering what I may have to replace inside to put this whole problem behind me. I have a gateway gt5040.
