My computer will not recognize my iPod Nano?

I bought my ipod a few months ago, and now my computer is unable to read it. Well, any computer is unable to read it actually. I've tried the 4 of the 5 R's, tried different connector cords, switched computers, tried updating USB drivers, and nothing works. I am able to use mice and other things in my USB ports, just not the iPod. I've even searched the apple site for help, but can't find what I am looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a 4th gen 8gb iPod nano.

  1. You didn't specify the Operating system for your computer.  Mac users usually has no problem with Ipods,  those with Vista sometimes will have problems reading the Ipod and Linux users also sometimes has problems with Ipods too.

If you really can't figure it out, bring your Ipod to the nearest Apple store & ask them to check for you.

  2. To Resolve this issue if you are using windows update to the latest Windows Service Pack This will resolve the issue you are experiencing.

You can use http://www.ipodtunesdownloads.com for unlimited ipod music, movie and game downloads

  3. Perhaps your computer is so old that it never seen an I-pod before? First time I seen a computer I thought it was a funny looking toaster or something? To solve the problem you could take picture of I-pods out of magazines and hold them up to the monitor and say. Computer! This is I-pod and then you put I-pod up to computer and say I-pod up to computer and say I-pod this is computer and once they have been introduced to each other they might start getting along and playing together? If all this fails just get a new computer that seen an I-pod before! I hope this advise has helped you?
