My computer won't load when I turn it on, Help?

Ok, so I start the computer and log in. But after I log in nothing will load. The Task Bar, no desktop icons, nothing at all. I was only able to get on the computer after opening the Task Manager with Ctrl Alt Delete and clicking on New Task.

Can anyone help me?!?!? I tried tapping F8 when the computer started and booting up the computer with the last good known settings checked off, but still won't load anything.

Help?

  1. Turn it off and leave it off for about 15 minutes. Then start it back up.

  2. hey it could be a problem with ur operating system....if u can..just format the c drive and load the OS again. But u'd have to load the drivers again as well....and u might lose your data in C drive like in my documents, favourites etc.....think it over or consult and expert.

    good luck!!

  3. Remove ur Ram From slot place in another slot and try it again

if the problem occur same, then remove ur cd/dvd rom/writer data cable and power cable and try it. if ur facing same prob then u take data back up in another system (connect ur hard disk as secondary in another system and take data back up from drive in which ur operating system is installed and again connect ur harddisk to ur system and format and install Fresh operating system )

    take care

  4. Yes Sandeep is quite right...

it seems to be an OS issue...

so you might not have to format your c drive..

you try to repair your OS with the CD, if repair don't works then you may go for formating you C drive..

  5. try to turn it on again and again ;)

  6. Dang you even tried the F8 trick. Sounds like your hard drive is corrupted. You could try the F8 trick and try going into safe mode and getting all the data off your computer that you want. Because I think your screwed. The only way I can think of fixing that is to format your hard drive and Re-install the operating system.

  7. try creating a new user on the computer.  if you can log in to the computer just fine with the new one, then your old account is corrupted.

  8. Call a technician.

  9. I'm guessing you're explorer.exe isn't working.

Since you are able to open Task Manager, go to Task Manager (CTRL + ALT + DELETE).

Click the File tab at the top, select New Task (Run...), where it says Open: type in "explorer.exe" (without the quotes).

This should open the explorer.exe which will load your desktop, task bar, etc.

    Good luck.
