My computer won't read

my computer will not read my network card. how do I get it to read? I have a gateway computer and I don't know what to download?

Open up control panel, select system, click on the device manager tab.  Does your network adapter show up?  Is there a yellow flag or a red flag next to it?

You can right mouse click on the adapter and delete.  Reboot the PC and let Windows re-install the driver.  This would take care of it if the problem was a corrupted driver file.

You may need to go to the Gateway support page on the internet and find the driver download section for your specific model of Gateway computer.  Download the driver and install it.  That should get you back to a working network card.
