I have a panasonic NV-GS60 digital video recorder, that records onto tape... I want to download the footage to my computer to put it on DVD... I can't get the computer to recognise that I have plugged in my camera... I've used Firewire and USB and tried on a few different computers, but nothing... It does make the sound of something being plugged in when I use USB and turn the camera on, but when I goto import it says it can't find anything to import from..

Please help

  1. maybe it's a bad cord or the outlet on the computer is bad. It should recognize it even if you need special software to upload it.

  2. Is it Mini DV tape that it records on?  What Operating System/Type of computer are you using?   You may not have a compatible Firewire port on your PC or need the correct software driver for your computer. I would advise you visit this site and find the proper drivers.

Depending on your Operating System,  You may need to wait until the company or a third party creates drivers for Vista.   Good luck.

  3. thats because you can only upload footage using a firewire amd the usb port uploads pictures from your memory card
