Question:

My computer won't system restore or defrag?

can someone help me out here? i don't really have the money to go get it checked by a professional, and i've ran numerous virus scans, yet i don't know what's wrong. is there any way i can fix my problem for little or no money?

  1. Hi Richard

    The first think to do is to run chkdsk. Then, you will be able to defrag the computer. You have too many  cross-linked files and probably, some of those fiels involve the restoring point which is why you are having those issues.

    Boot the computer and hit F8. Boot in command mode. Type 'CHKDSK" press enter

    Once that is done and you have corrected or deleted what checkdisk tells you, reboot and then degrag. It will work

    If all else fails, boot to windows AND install window from your window environment if you want to keep all your old date for backup. Just overwrite the old windows directory when it asks you.  


  2. in the defrag case, the drive u want to defrag probably doesnt have 15%

    free drive space

    as for the system restore, does it say the restore was unsuccesful or does it not even start?

    if it doesnt start u shld format ur pc and install windows again

    if it was unsuccesful, try try till u succeed

  3. you must reinstall you windows dude my pc was like that before i reinstall my windows and it come back to normal again
