My computer wont let me do anything because of a virus?(windows xp)-computer?

Question

i can't get on the web, play music, and most of all i cant restore my computer the way i normally do it, and when i cut my computer on i cant do anything. I dont any disks for my computer or cd's so i dont now what else to do. Does anyone know anykind of way to help me or any codes that they can give any suggestions.

It sounds like you have a virus, I will try to help you as much as possible but this can be very hard to do without you knowing much about computers. First boot your computer into safe mode when turning on power hit F8 when it gives you the option go to safe mode once in safe mode click on start  then click on run and type in the box msconfig when the Box comes up showing you your options choose startup and deselect  or disable all all startup programs next click on general tab click on slective startup then clcik apply and ok, when your computer reboots allow normal boot up clcik on start and help and support run the system restore when it puts the calender up choose a date that you know the computer was working ok it will then reset the computer to that date once it reboots again click on start and on run and cliclk on startups, reselect all to run again , on the generals tab click normal startup click apply and ok and reboot. Next if your computer will boot and go online go to windows update and download the malicous software removal tool then run it, write the name down as you will have to click on run and type it's name in the run box. if it finds a bug follow directions to get rid of it. If you can't do this you will need to get someone to help you with the computer and if the removeal toold does not work you will have to do an fdisk and format and reinstall everything, you may be able to back up your music and pictures if the tool removed the bug but if not you will lose everything unles you take it to someone who can help you. If you do not have a cd but have a windows code on your machince say like a e-machine or a dell or any laptop you can take it to a computer store and have them reinstall your software, you need to remember your password and user name and phone number to get back on the net. If you don't have a windows key on your machine you will have to buy one for them to install the software on your computer. Do not use someone else's computer software because microsoft can detect another system running the same cd code, and when you have to activate it you will be dead in the water again. well you could try to use system restore to restore back to an earlier time and maybe the VIRUS will go away.

The best thing to do and maybe the only thing to do is Reinstall Windows to completly wipe all virus and spyware from the hard drive.

If you do not have your xp disc you may have to buy a new one.  That will in time save you alot of trouble.

I recommend windows vista.
