My computer wont let me type in the "at" symbol..when i press the at key this comes up " help

Other than a faulty keyboard, don't know why.

As an alternate, try pressing holding down the Alt key and pressing 64 from the Number Pad.  i.e. Alt+64

But, 64 must be input to the Number Pad while holding down Alt key

check the tab, alt, ctrl, shift, caps lock and all of those buttons... hope it works
