Question:

My computer wont read disc's?

It is a HP with windows XP and it wont read any disc's I put into it someone help me please!

    Try Updating the drivers on your disk drive  or restore the computer to a time before the problem happened , if you are prepared to loose changes made to the system after the restore date.

  2. Invest in a CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner, many times this will fix it.

While the computer is off try unplugging the actual optical drive and replugging the cable back in and restart and see how well it works otherwise your sensor might be gone or the motor for the disk or even the sensor.  Just listen to it if you can and hear how it sounds when you put a disk in.  You should hear it spin up to speen than the laser sensor/reader making a buzzing noise because it is trying to read the disk.  If nothing or one of these things is not happening than take it apart and plug it in and look at what is going on.  Otherwise just buy a new one.  Good luck.
