  1. could be an issue with the actual cd drive

    does it deffo work?

  2. Make sure that the CD drive on your computer is made to read CD-RW's.  If it can read CD-R's but not CD-RW's, that's probably your problem.

If it won't recognize ANY blank CD's (during writing), then try seeing if you can adjust the speed of the drive.  Go to My Computer and right-click on the CD drive, then click Properties / Recording and change the speed from Fastest to something else.

    Hope this helps.

  3. If you put a blank disc in the drive, & open the drive from my computer, you will either see nothing or get an error message that says that the drive is not ready or media not recognised. Try a burning program like Nero or a freeware like deepburner. It would tell you what media you have in there, is it re-writable, how much data is on there etc..

Deepburner can be had from www.deepburner.com
