  1. You need to do a disk clean up and also you need to defragament your files. If it is still slow you could have a virus. Run a virus scan.good luck

  2. hit it with a baseball bat

  3. Now the 50 - 70% upcharge on the microprocessor is unusual and it shouldn't be doing that.  Not unless you are very low on RAM and the computer has to use virtual memory on the hard disk which causes a lot of read writes to the disk and slows things down.

It is a possiblity, that you have some kind of malware or virus or a backdoor which is using your computer as a zombie, so make sure you run virus and malware scans to see if you've picked something up.

Secondly, 750 mb is not very much RAM.  You should probably add another gig of RAM so you have adquate RAM.  This reduces read writes to the hard disk and will speed things up noticeably.  However, I don't like your 50 - 80% upcharge on the cpu.  So something is running all the time and hogging the processor.  Take a look at your system resources and try to reduce/elimiate usless services.

See blackvipers page on how to do this:

    http://www.blackviper.com/AskBV/XP18.htm

Also, clean up your system tray and get rid of or disable, programs that are running in the background you don't need.

And yes, clean up the computer and get rid of useless internet trash.

Explorer, Tools Menu, Internet Options, DELETE browsing history and files.

CCleaner is a good one, its free

But do be judicious and go through and use common sense when using it.

    Defrag the hard disk.

  4. well hope that u r not running programs like games that consume more resources run a virus scan

  5. get ccleaner

  6. you need to defrag your hard drive so all the files that were splattered all over the place would be all organized again. I guarantee you if you do this your computer would be faster

  7. XP or VIsta? Xp this is completely abnormal; Vista this could be fairly normal minus the CPU usage. Try scanning with Super Anti-spyware or Malwarebytes and see if anything comes up. What are the two programs and there is nothing else running in the task bar?

  8. run defrag, get and install antivirus, adware and spyware programs, install more ram.
