Question:

My conure I had flew away?

The conure we've had for 13 years was given away to my uncle by my parents, I didn't want them to get rid of him and he flew away like just a couple days after we gave him to him. I knew something like this would happen because people are careless and don't know how to take care of pets!!! Now I'm heartbroken :( My uncle lives in the L.A. suburbs. He says he sees parrots flying around all them time and that he maybe went with them and he's heard him around, but I don't believe it. Everytime he's flown away I've always spent hours getting him back and have gotten him back every time. This supposedly happened a week ago and I just found out. Is there a chance my birdy will survive?

  1. also try listing the bird on 911 parrot. I am sure your bird will be ok by my suggestion to you is if you get him/her back get his/her wings clipped so she cant fly off next time.I agree with the cage in the yard and toys and feed the bird is used to.I also agree with the calling for the bird.

Good luck with your Fid.I wish him a happy healthy safe return home.

  2. Tell him to put his cage outside where he has been seen with lots of his fav foods and toys and maybe he will return. Tell him to also call him by name or do a familiar call or whistle to the bird. How heartbreaking I am so sorry:( Also call vets and shelters and have him put up a poster with your number on it if he is sighted anywhere. He may survive but it depends on the temps mainly.

  3. in la...yes. There is old food laying out everywhere in la, and a conure is a colorfull bird. I am guessing that he is socialized, so when some good sameritan finds him he will take him to the animaol shelter or a vets office. Just keep calling around untill you find he is at a local shelter.
