  1. What other fish do you have in the tank?  Theyu may have eaten them. Also if the eggs were not fertile the convicts may have eaten them. Was this their first brood?

  2. they had cavier for dinner, sometimes the parents will eat the eggs.

  3. Chances are they ate them, unlucky hey, it can happen the first time they breed, it did with my red jewels yesterday...you can try to leave them there and they may spawn again for you and won't eat them...good luck

  4. Given the sheer numbers of total spawns Convicts typically generate, I'd tend to believe these were eaten.  Convicts however are great parents, and without you listing your tank size and population, I'd have to be inclined to think they themselves ate them, or they just really hid them well.

  5. It's common for cichlids to eat their eggs, especially if it's their first time or they feel the eggs are threatened.

  6. the first few answers are probably correct but i'd like to add another possibility,  it's not uncommon for cichlids to transfer their eggs and fry from one nest site to another. by observing the parents you can verify this. if they are protecting another location chances are their newly hatched fry are probably there. if not, then one or more of the first few answers are correct

  7. they probly were mistaken for food by the fish

  8. Yummy lunch! Make sure you feed your fish an adequate amount at scheduled times!
