About a month ago I tried to take money out of an ATM between the amount I tried to take plus store fees and the credit card fees I was charged $48, the store owner said since the atm didnt give me the money I wouldnt be charged. I just got my credit card bill and it's on there, I dont have the receipt that says it didnt complete the transaction, but I do have the statement from a different credit card that I had to use. How do I fix this?

  1. You state ATM then say "store owner" so is it a debit card or debit card with the Visa logo?  Why haven't you taken this up with your bank?

  2. Immediately call the bank Representativeve or the call centre and inform the same to them. Also ask them to reverse the charges as you have not got any money from the ATM.

  3. as far as I know it's impossible to use your credit card at ATMs. A credit card has no pin code, which you need to use at any ATM.

Did you mean you used your debit card?

Call them and explain everything (just like here) and say you have no receipt. Most likely you walked out without taking a receipt or the ATM run out of receipts. It had to print "Transaction canceled". Or say you lost the receipt.

You can file a fraud claim with your credit card company against the ATM owner.

If you just simply refuse to pay $48 then it will go into collection and F@ck up your credit, so I do not recommend that.

If they refuse to take it off I would just pay and be very careful next time. Do not use shady ATMs in weird small places.

  4. Get rid of the credit cards, and it will NEVER be an issue again.

  5. Sounds like you tried to take a cash advance from your credit card. What you need to do is dispute it with your credit card company right away. You usually only have 30 days to do this, so hurry up !
