I am trying to read and clean up my credit report. Some of the debt is really old, but I need to know how to determine the date at which bad debt should be removed from my credit report. My Equifax report is confusing.

  1. Equifax usually prints the date it will be removed. I have one and at the end of each creditor it has this phrase "date expected to be removed**/**/****. Or it will say something like expected to update on such and such date.

If they are not on the report then you would use the date that they last reported on the file to the report you are viewing.

If you look on each file it has the Agency address on the left, right below the address it says Date reported. Use this date and add seven years.

  2. i believe it would be the delinquency date. some credit reports like transunioun will list a removal date.
