My cucumber plant is sick

It looked so good. Very large, healthy, tons of blooms, lots of new growth. Suddenly it started getting brown in the middle. There is still lots of new growth but the middle looks fried. Rest of the leaves look fine. No noticeable insect problems.

Cucumbers normally die off in August. They have a short growing season. Produce like crazy for about 4 weeks and thats it. If you planted them late you may have missed the season. They use the light of the sun to know when its growing season is over. So there is nothing you can do as they usually die off by the end of August.
